Grace & Her Teeth!

Today prior to lunch Grace fell... during lunch she didn't eat, she just kept asking to go to sleep. We thought it might be her molars and low and behold when we looked in her mouth we spotted her top two molars both coming in! She has been a little extra restless at night but other than that, she hasn't shown any signs of them coming in.
We also noticed her lip was a little swollen so we lifted it up and her gum/front tooth was bloody and the gum looked purple. I called our dentist and they said to watch it and if it is still a problem Monday to call for an appointment. They did mention extraction which flipped me out, so hopefully it isn't that bad. Poor girl... her mouth is really having a time of it this week!!

Jacob's FOUR!

We celebrated Jacob today... four years ago he came into our lives and FOREVER changed all of us. In the morning he got some extra cuddle time from Mom, went to school, got some balloons, had his FAVORITE dinner (chocolate chip mickey mouse pancakes), played ball with Daddy outside, went for a halloween walk, opened gifts, did some art projects and had a brownie cake! It was such a nice day... we made it all about Jacob and the things he loves most!
Now that Jacob is four he can do so much... and has come such a long way in one short year. He can now ride a bike, write his name, color really well, recognize letters and knows the sounds they make, take care of his baby sister, and so much more! All of these things he has learned or improved in the last year of his life. He loves ART and making projects, loves make believe, taking trips, Florida, clothes (matching), Mickey Mouse, riding his bike, flowers, nature, his baby sister, taking walks, school, pancakes, bananas, rice, and cold milk. He continues to be our loving, caring, kind, cuddle bug. He NEVER likes to see the ones he loves in pain or hurt. Jacob loves to help out and enjoys cooking and baking. He continues to be cautious, careful, and has a wonderful ability to do what is right (most of the time).
I'm so happy to have him, he is my favorite boy in the whole wide world! I could not have asked for a better boy. Jacob WE LOVE YOU!

Jacob's 4th Birthday Party!

After a little change up (Macomb Corner's was closed for construction!) we ended up at Waldenburg Park. It is such a beautiful park, and the fall colors were amazing. Jacob had a great time eating, playing, opening gifts, and running around with friends & family! The weather could have been a little nicer, but hey... we'll take what we can get! Funny thing was there was another birthday there the same day & time! Who would have thought??!?!?!? Jacob must have thanked me a hundred times on the way home for his party. He loved it, and really... that is ALL that matters! Of course having a Mickey themed party was right up his alley... and sweetened the pot for him. Baby sis even dressed up as Minnie Mouse! After the park we headed back to Doe's for a little get together. Christi & Averie came by... so did Tim, Cathy & Isabella. Jacob was so excited to have all the "babies" here. It was such a nice little gathering... everyone had a super time!

Alexis' First Feed!

Alexis had rice cereal for the VERY first time! She was such a pro... she started by trying to eat the empty bowl while I got her dinner ready. Then after one bite she grabbed hold of the spoon and put the second bite into her mouth all by herself! She loved it and smiled quite a few times during her very first meal! After the first feed we always need a bath... right?? Well to follow tradition we gave her a bath right after, but she didn't really need one. She hardly spit out any food... and wasn't a mess at all! What a super eater!
Alexis preparing to CHOW!
Mommy Feeding Lex...The look on her face after the first bite... a smile of course!
Note: Empty bowl & happy face... mission accomplished!

Apple Picking & Apple Baking!

On Saturday (17th) we went Apple picking at Blake's with Al & Courtney. The kids had so much fun and really ate their way through the orchard. We picked apples of every color... a whole 1/2 bushel of them! They really enjoyed themselves.
So far we have made applesauce and a swedish apple pie. Jacob loves using the corer/peeler/slicer and is really pretty good at it! Up next will be baked apples and apple pie... yum... we love apples!

Five Month Old Beauty!

It blows me away to think how fast time is zooming by with our "baby". She does so much more each day... blowing raspberries, holding her head up from a laying position, rolling onto her side, babbles, coos, thumb sucking, toe touching, hand eye coordination. The list is endless and it amazes me!
Alexis had two teeth come in (bottom front) this month and she loves to chomp on fingers and toys with them!
I have yet to start our little princess on cereal. Since she is the baby, I'm having a hard time letting go of just ME feeding her. Soon though, since I know she is ready. Just I'm not!
Lex still isn't the biggest fan of tummy time. She doesn't mind it for a few minutes but would much rather swing, bounce, vibrate or be held by the kids!
I can't help but think she might end up being a late walker like her big sister. She is doing great with sitting up with assistance. But she doesn't love standing, and tuckers out with it quickly. Similar to big sis!
Sleep for her has changed a little bit. She is developing a consistent pattern. Morning nap, afternoon and early evening nap. She goes to bed around 8:30 and gets up around 8ish each morning. She still wakes at about 3 am and sometimes 5 am, and I wish I could get her to sleep through one of those but we haven't been able to do that. I guess she just loves me SO much!
Alexis is still wearing 0-3 month clothing, and starting to fit in 3-6 month stuff on occasion. Her shoe size is a 0. She is getting so big, yet everyone comments on how small she still is. I guess she is just our peanut. At 5 months Alexis currently weighs 13 lbs, 15 oz...
Of all the things our sweetheart does... I'd have to say laughing is my favorite! Especially when she laughs out of the blue at something Jacob or Grace does! It is priceless!
Now onto some favorite pictures of our littlest princess!

Pumpkin Patch!

We went to a special place today... the pumpkin patch with Doe, Al & Courtney. We all had fun on the wagon ride, picking out pumpkins, and taking in the fall air. ESPECIALLY Al & Greg. Jacob picked a really tall pumpkin, Grace a short stout one, and we got a baby one for Alexis. I'm so glad we went... good times!
